| Heavyweight extender for resins. High ratios of silica flour can be made to extend resins economically and increase abrasion resistance. Can also be used at up to 30 percent to extend and increase stiffness of polyurethane and silicone rubbers when added to a pre catalysed mix.In colder months silica flour tends to absorb moisture which can cause foaming, when mixed with polyurethane and epoxy resins. To remove moisture, spread out silica flour on a tray and dry it in a oven. Allow the silica flour to return to room temperature before mixing. |
